Cookie Policy

There is a cookie banner on this site, and it exists because of exactly one script: Google Analytics. Everything else here is strictly necessary — a theme preference and a list of the tools you last opened — and needs no consent at all. Until you choose in the banner, analytics storage is denied and no measurement cookie is written. Declining costs you nothing; every tool works the same either way.

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to store and to send back on every later request to the same domain. That second half is what makes cookies useful for tracking: the server sees the value arrive and can recognise a returning visitor across sessions and pages.

localStorage is related but different. It is also browser storage, but it is never attached to a network request — JavaScript running on the page can read it, and nothing else can. Values placed there by this site stay on your device and are not transmitted to us. Legally it is treated the same way as a cookie, which is why it is described here.

None of these values is sent to us. None is used to build a profile or to target advertising. Clearing them costs you nothing but a theme preference, a shortcut list and having to answer the banner again.

If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets its own first-party cookies on this domain — chiefly _ga, which tells a returning visitor apart from a new one, and _ga_<ID>, which holds a single session’s data. They are written and read by Google’s tag, not by our server, and we are not given anything that identifies you as a person.

The tag runs in Google’s Consent Mode with advertising storage, advertising user data and personalisation permanently denied. Accepting analytics turns on measurement and nothing else. What is measured is aggregate: which pages and tools are used, roughly from where, and whether a tool finished or errored. No file, no pasted text and no output is ever part of it, because none of that leaves your device.

Your decision is stored on this device, so you can revise it here rather than hunting through browser settings. Nothing else is affected:

Blocking here takes effect immediately, and analytics storage stays blocked for as long as the value is present. You can also revoke it by clearing site data for this domain, using the steps below.

This site loads no social-media widgets, no embedded video players, no live-chat scripts and no third-party fonts, each of which is a common and often invisible source of tracking storage. The single third-party script is Google Analytics, described above, and it is granted storage only once you say so.

If display advertising is shown, the advertising partner may set its own cookies or storage on pages where its adverts appear. That storage is governed by the partner’s policy, not this one, and we have no access to it. We do not pass any data about you to advertising partners. Most browsers allow you to block third-party cookies entirely without affecting the tools.

Every mainstream browser lets you inspect and clear site data. The steps are broadly:

• Chrome and Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Additional content settings → On-device site data, then search for collabstool.com.
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data, then search for collabstool.com.
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data, then search for collabstool.com.

To clear only the recently-used list without touching anything else, use the Clear history button on the homepage strip — it removes the entry directly.

Blocking all site storage will not break any tool. It will reset your theme on each visit, stop the homepage remembering what you last used, and revoke any analytics consent you have given.

This site honours those signals by default rather than by relaying them: analytics storage begins denied, so a visitor who has not accepted is already outside measurement, whatever their browser sends. If a third-party advertising script is ever present, its response to them is governed by that party, not by us.

This page was revised on 20 September 2026 to describe Google Analytics and the consent banner that controls it; the earlier version stated that no analytics cookies were set, which was true then and is why the wording here is now explicit about what happens before and after you choose.
