AVIF is the most efficient mainstream image format, but efficiency only helps if the browser on the other end can decode it. Some older browsers, editors and platforms still cannot. WebP has been supported far longer and more widely, so converting AVIF to WebP keeps a modern, small file while removing the compatibility risk.
The quality slider decides how hard WebP compresses; 90% and above stays very close to the decoded AVIF while producing a small file. Any alpha channel in the source is preserved, so transparent artwork stays cleanly cut out. Because both formats are modern codecs, the size penalty for the extra compatibility is usually small.
Up to twenty files convert in one run, each up to 25 MB, processed one at a time so memory stays predictable, with a summary of size before and after. Each result is named after its source with a .webp extension.
