A .jfif file is simply a JPEG saved with a different extension — the JPEG File Interchange Format. Downloads from browsers and exports from some cameras use it, and the unfamiliar suffix occasionally trips up software that only looks for .jpg. Converting it to WebP gives you a clean, modern file that every current browser understands.
WebP compresses photographs more efficiently than JPEG, so the same image at the same visible quality usually ends up twenty to thirty percent smaller. The quality slider lets you pick the balance: 90% and above is effectively indistinguishable from the source, while lower values save even more space for images where a little softness does not matter.
