Overview
Convert a salary between yearly, monthly, weekly, daily and hourly pay from your hours per week, so you can compare a salary with an hourly rate or a contract.
Job ads mix pay periods: one quotes an annual salary, another an hourly rate, a third a day rate for contract work. This calculator converts any of them into all the others so you can compare like with like.
It works from 52 weeks a year. Annual-to-hourly divides by hours per week × 52; daily divides by days per week × 52. Change the hours and days to match a part-time schedule, overtime or unpaid leave.
A salary that sounds generous can be a modest hourly rate once real hours are counted, and a contract day rate can be a strong annual figure. Converting everything to a common basis removes the guesswork.
Every figure is worked out in your browser with standard financial formulas. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.
Step by step
Enter the pay amount and choose what period it covers.
Set your hours and days per week so the hourly and daily rates are accurate.
Read the annual, monthly, weekly, daily and hourly figures side by side.
Why use it
What this tool is good for, and what it deliberately does not try to do.
Enter pay for one period — year, month, week, day or hour — and see every other period at once.
Turn an annual salary into an hourly rate, or a contract day rate into a salary, to compare offers fairly.
Set hours and days per week for part-time, overtime or unpaid leave so the figures reflect how you actually work.
