Thermal cameras do not see light — they see heat, and paint it with false colour so we can read it. The familiar iron palette runs from black (cold) through purple, red and orange to white (hot), letting a single glance reveal what is warm and what is cool.
We take each pixel's brightness and look it up on that same iron gradient. Bright, warm-looking areas climb toward yellow and white while dark regions fall to black and purple, so an ordinary photo is re-rendered as if seen through a heat sensor.
The palette mapping runs per pixel on an in-browser canvas and the result is exported as a lossless PNG at full resolution, so your photo never leaves your device.
