No. This tool re-encodes the first frame into a static WebP, which suits a thumbnail, icon or preview. For motion, keep the APNG or use an animated WebP encoder.

Why WebP rather than PNG for an APNG frame?

PNG is lossless but often larger than a lossy WebP at indistinguishable quality. WebP keeps transparency too, so it is usually the lighter web target for a still frame.

What quality should I choose?
