A kaleidoscope places two or more mirrors at an angle so a single scene reflects into a ring of symmetric wedges. The effect is hypnotic precisely because the pattern is perfectly balanced around a centre point.
How this tool recreates it
For every pixel we compute its angle and distance from the centre, fold the angle into one segment and mirror alternate wedges, then sample the source at that reflected position. The number of segments sets how many times the image repeats around the circle.
