What defines the lomo look
Lomography came from cheap Russian and plastic toy cameras that produced unexpectedly vivid, contrasty frames with dark, fall-off corners. The style celebrates saturated colour, punchy contrast and strong vignetting, and it turned technical flaws into a beloved aesthetic.
The three ingredients
This grade boosts colour saturation well past neutral, applies a warm contrast S-curve so shadows deepen and highlights glow, then darkens the corners heavily. Together they give the frame energy and focus the viewer on the centre.
Lomo versus vintage and vignette
A plain vignette only darkens edges; vintage fades and warms for nostalgia. Lomo is the loud one — more colour, more contrast, more corner darkening — for photos that should feel bold and analog rather than soft and aged.

How is lomo different from vintage?
Vintage fades, warms and gently grains for a soft aged look. Lomo goes the other way — it boosts saturation and contrast and darkens the corners hard, for a punchy, vivid toy-camera result.
Why are the corners so dark?
Heavy vignetting is a hallmark of Lomo and Holga cameras, whose plastic lenses fell off sharply at the edges. Exaggerating it is central to the aesthetic.
Can I tone the effect down?
This applies a curated, fixed grade. If it is too strong for a subject, run the result back through the brightness or saturate tool to soften it.
